PM Mitsotakis speaks on the phone with Benjamin Netanyahu

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Saturday spoke on the phone with Benjamin Netanyahu, following an initiative by the Israeli Prime Minister. During the call, Mitsotakis emphasised the need for de-escalation. He acknowledged that Iran must not acquire a nuclear arsenal, but stressed that the solution lies in diplomacy and that the last thing the region needs is new fronts of conflict.

Mitsotakis strongly underlined the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages, and the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid.
