Papastergiou: More than 330.000 citizens have obtained their Personal Number

"In less than two weeks, more than 330,000 citizens have obtained their Personal Number. This figure is particularly satisfactory and proves in practice how easy the issuance process is. Therefore, gradually, citizens are acquiring the unique number they will need for identification with public services, while order is also being established in public registries," stated the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, in a statement to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA).
"Citizens can see on myInfo, in one place, the information the State holds about them and verify their details before issuing the Personal Number (P.A.). So far, 96,297 cases of discrepancies have been identified between the Civil Registry and another registry-for example, in first name, surname, or date of birth. By confirming the information on the myInfo platform, the correction process starts automatically. We are methodically resolving errors, inaccuracies, and duplicate entries in registries that have long troubled citizens. Furthermore, in this way, the State gains a unified and accurate view of each citizen, enabling us to offer more efficient digital services," the Minister added and emphasized. "Our goal is to make the state more efficient, and the Personal Number is a key tool in that direction."
