Androulakis: The revival of the NHS is not a priority for the government

PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis who visited on Friday the hospital in Sparti stated among other that it is very important the fact that a model hospital is being prepared with sponsorship from the Niarchos Foundation.
“ However, despite this, even here, in the current facilities, we encounter the problems that exist throughout the Greek regions: understaffing in specific specialties and doctors working excessive on-call hours to meet the needs of local communities,” he added.
“ Despite all the struggles and efforts made by nurses and doctors, unfortunately, the government, the state, must do much more. There must be incentives for new doctors and nurses to come to the Greek regions and islands,” noted Androulakis, underlining that "in a time of high inflation, the Greek people pay the second highest private health expenses. This proves that for New Democracy, the revival of the National Health System is not a priority."
