PM Mitsotakis meets with Swedish counterpart Kristersson in Stockholm on strengthening bilateral relations

The prospects of strengthening bilateral relations, especially in the economy and defense sectors, as well as issues of European interest were discussed during the meeting of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Stockholm on Thursday.

The two leaders discussed extensively Greece's initiatives on issues relating to protecting underage people from digital addiction. PM Mitsotakis referred particularly to the Kids Wallet application, while both leaders discussed the possibility of a joint European action in this sector.

Mitsotakis and Kristersson also exchanged views on the landscape of artificial intelligence and Europe, with the Greek premier underlining the need to find the right balance among innovation, technology growth, and the regulatory framework for platforms and technology companies. They also discussed issues of competitiveness in the European economy and of the collective European defense.

The Greek PM stressed that the initiatives being implemented to strengthen European defense are important, but he also underlined that further funding is necessary to implement initiatives of joint European interest, along the lines of the Mario Draghi report. In addition, the two leaders discussed issues related to the European Union's next Multiannual Financial Framework.
