Infrastructure & Transport Min Dimas visits Civil Aviation Authority headquarters

Infrastructure & Transport Minister Christos Dimas and Secretary General for Transport Despina Paliarouta paid a visit on Tuesday to the headquarters of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Athens & Macedonia Region Control Center at the coastal suburb of Elliniko.
The ministry officials held an extensive work meeting with CAA Governor Giorgos Saounatsos, Deputy Governor of Air Navigation Giorgos Vagenas, Deputy Governor of Airports Alexandros Karydis, and the chiefs of several employee unions.
Among the topics discussed were boosting staffing; upgrades to the air navigation and infrastructure systems; delays in air traffic and at airports; and turning the Civil Aviation Authority into a legal entity governed by public law (NPDD).
Dimas also paid a visit to air traffic service and air traffic systems areas at the centers, where he also spoke with employees.
