Papathanasis: 33.5 million euros for 20 new projects in INTERREG Greece – Cyprus

Alternate Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, signed the Financing Agreements for twenty new projects within the framework of the INTERREG VI-A Greece-Cyprus Cooperation Programme 2021-2027, with a total budget of 33.5 million euros.
In total, 88 entities are participating - 47 from Greece and 41 from Cyprus. A comprehensive set of cross-border actions is fully underway to be completed in the next two years with the aim of strengthening resilience, sustainability and social cohesion.
The operations are being implemented in Crete, the North and South Aegean and Cyprus, seeking to jointly address challenges mainly focused on:
-Energy efficiency and green energy,
-Climate resilience and natural disaster management
-Protection of nature and biodiversity, with the development of digital monitoring tools
-Accessibility, culture and social inclusion.
