Draft law on biomethane and hydrogen put to public consultation

The Ministry of Environment and Energy announced on Tuesday that it has submitted a draft law for public electronic consultation. This law aims to promote the production of biomethane and to organise the hydrogen market.

According to a statement by the Ministry, the draft law establishes the institutional framework for the production and participation of biomethane and renewable and low-carbon hydrogen in Greece's energy mix to achieve the relevant objectives included in the National Plan for Energy and Climate.

The consultation will run until Monday, 16 June 2025.
