The President of the Hellenic Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis, received on Tuesday his counterpart of the Republic of Moldova Igor Grosu. 

Kaklamanis noted that it is a great pleasure that Grosu is the first foreign counterpart to meet since he took office. He also noted that the parliaments of the two countries are cooperating. "We mainly offer expertise with our parliamentary officials, as well as with the friendship groups that exist between Moldova and Greece," he added.

For his part, Grosu thanked Greece for its support, particularly in assisting Moldova’s EU accession process.

Kaklamanis decorated Grosu with the gold medal of the Hellenic Parliament, which was issued on the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821. The medal bears the figure of the ancient Greek goddess Athena from the seal of the newly established Greek state, accompanied by the corresponding commemorative scroll.
