All electronically issued medical prescriptions will have 60-day validity from now on (June 3), whether they are used in the private or public medical facilities, the Panhellenic Medical Association (PMA) said on Tuesday.

Up to now, each prescription for medication or medical test was valid for 3 weeks if executed in the private sector and for 8 weeks if in the public sector, resulting in a lot of problems.

The change to a single deadline was agreed on by the medical association and related health and insurance agencies, and is expected to facilitate both doctors and citizens.
