Vroutsis on refusal of bb club owners to 'sit at the same table': No-show means no championship
Deputy Minister for Sports Yiannis Vroutsis told Open TV that if the owners of Panathinaikos and Olympiacos BB clubs do not show up at 15:00 on Wednesday, the Greek Basket League championship for the year will be permanently suspended.
Both Vroutsis and government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis announced on Monday the postponement of Wednesday's game and the summons instead of Panathinaikos' Dimitris Giannakopoulos and Olympiacos' Giorgos and Panagiotis Angelopoulos to the ministry to resolve their disagreement.
The summons came after an altercation between the two clubs' owners at a game at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in statements to the press, each of the two owners have said they will not sit at the same table with each other.
"I will wait for them until 15:00 on Wednesday. If they do not come, the championship will be permanently suspended," Vroutsis said.
