Kerameus showcases employment reforms and repatriation trends at "Brain Retain & Regain" conference

Minister of Labour and Social Security Niki Kerameus, speaking at the conference "Brain Retain & Regain", which was organised by the website in.gr, referred to the paradigm shift that is taking place in the Greek labour market, but also to the return of the majority of Greeks who left abroad, especially during the years of the crisis.
Kerameus explained the actions to further strengthen employment. Specifically, she referred to the 44 "Career Days" of the Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA), which have been organised in 18 cities in Greece, as well as the "Jobmatch" application, through which with a few "clicks" a match is made between those interested in jobs and companies.
She also underlined the significant improvement in working conditions brought about by the use of the Digital Job Card and cited as a typical example the fact that, last March, in the tourism sector alone, an increase of 637% was recorded in the number of overtime hours declared.
Kerameus also referred to Eurostat figures showing that 420,000 of the 660,000 Greeks who left in 2010 have returned, and she highlighted the drop in unemployment, which stood at 8.3% in April.
