Pierrakakis to participate in the OECD Ministerial Conference in Paris

The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, is traveling to Paris on Monday to participate in the Ministerial Conference of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The central theme of the ministerial conference is the search for new "tools" aimed at a resilient and sustainable global growth, based on investment and innovation. The focus will be on strategies for the restructuring of trade and addressing economic, energy and environmental crises. The international role of the OECD, the exploitation of the digital economy and international cooperation for the governance of artificial intelligence will also be examined.
The minister will participate in the ministerial plenary to discuss the findings and policy recommendations of the OECD Economic Outlook report. Pierrakakis will address the session "Global Relations and Enlargement of the OECD."
Member States and the EU will discuss the further dissemination of OECD best practices, focusing on enlargement and accession procedures to the organization.
He will also be the lead speaker at a special ministerial session on strengthening the digital economy. The discussion will examine the potential for leveraging private investment in the digital economy, in particular foreign direct investment, while exchanging good practices on reforms and policies that promote innovation.
In the context of the ministerial conference, Pierrakakis will meet with the OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann.
