Turkish national detained over shooting of intelligence officers gets Wed deadline to testify

A 49-year-old Turkish national who was arrested over his alleged involvement in gunfire against officers of the National Intelligence Service (EYP) received a deadline to testify before a prosecutor at 12:00 on Wednesday.
The man was led before a prosecutor on Sunday in execution of an arrest warrant ordered by the investigating judge handling the case.
He is charged with attempted manslaughter by complicity (a crime) and illegal possession and use of weapons (misdemeanors). The shooting incident occurred on May 27 at a gas station in Thermi, Thessaloniki. Two more people who rode in his car during the incident are being sought and have been charged with aiding a manslaughter attempt and as accessories after the fact. Arrest warrants have also been issued for them.
The 49-year-old is being held at the General Police Headuarters of Thessaloniki.
