Protest march to Embassy of Israel expresses solidarity with Palestinians

A march was held to the Embassy of Israel in Athens on Saturday, called by Communist Party (KKE)-affiliated labor union PAME and other worker organizations.

Marchers met at Eleftherias Park on Vassilissis Sofias to protest the "the state of Israel's imlementation of terrorism" in Palestine. The protesters charged NATO and Europeans with aligning with Israel to exercise "violence, occupation,

and genocide."
Participating in the protest march was a delegation of KKE members of the central committee. The march participants threw red paint at the embassy.

Statements were delivered by the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE), and representatives of the 'Parthenonas' association of grade-school teachers, the General Union of Palestinian Workers of Greece, and the Press and Paper Syndicate. A Palestinian girl recited a poem as well, while a Palestinian musician played songs and compositions from his homeland.
