Mitsotakis, regional governors discuss NSRF and better governmental-regional coordination

"We have been making an effort since last October to integrate the issues of each region into a single central direction so that these can then be reflected in many different fields, with projects, procedures, local initiatives, all of which are integrated into a central and agreed national goal," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said, after a meeting with Greece's 13 regional governors on Friday at the Maximos Mansion.
The implementation of the NSRF programmes and better coordination between the government and the regions dominated the meeting.
"I think that this teamwork should become even more systematic. It should be intensified by the end of the year. We should overcome any failures where they are identified, but also enrich the actions based on the needs. Such as the problem, for example, of expanding settlements, for which the government has promised to bring a legal, stable but above all logical solution."
Mitsotakis stressed the need for realistic choices that will make actions more effective, "especially ahead of the revision of the NSRF and the new European budget for the period 2028-2034." He also pointed out that Greece will assume the presidency of the EU in the second half of 2027, at an extremely critical juncture for the future of European financial instruments.
"We, like you, strive for the enhanced potential of the country. With credibility, self-confidence, a country that leaves no one behind. The path to this country that makes us proud passes through reforms," he stated.
