Famellos: SYRIZA is changing in order to support Greek society

Opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Sokratis Famellos on Thursday visited Larissa. Following his meeting with the Thessaly Farmers’ Cooperative “ THESgi,” he took part in a meeting with entities from Thessaly to discuss resilience issues.
As part of the visit, he made a statement focusing on the recent scandal with OPEKEPE, the Payment Authority of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) subsidies, as well as the Tempi case.
In his statement, Socrates Famellos noted that "in Thessaly, it is important to talk about the recovery measures from the disasters, but also more broadly about the future of the primary sector," underlining that "without the regions, Greece does not exist."
"SYRIZA’s core principle is decentralisation and regional development. SYRIZA is changing in order to support Greek society, but things in the government are going from bad to worse. Another scandal at OPEKEPE reveals that the government not only lacks a plan for the primary sector, but that major financial scandals exist with the knowledge and responsibility of the ministers. Greece doesn’t just need change - it needs to be cleaned up. In this major transformation toward a just society, SYRIZA will be there," he said.
Regarding the Tempi case, he stated that "SYRIZA will be the voice of society within parliament," adding that "all responsibilities of political figures cannot be investigated solely in Parliament, and if we downplay them, they will not be investigated anywhere."
