Marinakis: At the initiative of Greece, 80 UN member states agreed on a joint declaration on protecting civilians in armed conflicts

"The electrical interconnection of Crete via Attica successfully began its operation on Saturday, May 24. This is the second interconnection of the island with the mainland, as the first via the Peloponnese had begun its operation in the summer of 2021," government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis said on Monday.
"The double electrical interconnection of Crete with the mainland system now makes the island absolutely energy secure and immediately upgrades its tourism product," he stressed.
He added that, in combination with the Crete-Peloponnese interconnection, the savings are expected to reach 550 million euros annually.
"As of today, the digital platform of the National Health System for the national electronic health record comes into force. Through it, the citizen now has control of the care he receives, while at the same time the state acquires a clear functional picture of the health status quo. In practice, this valuable digital tool collects, organises and supports the management of all critical health data for each citizen," he underlined.
Marinakis also noted that "at the initiative of Greece and with coordinated diplomatic efforts, a joint statement was arrived at by 80 United Nations member states on the protection of civilians in armed conflicts. Greece opened this specific discussion, through Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, within the framework of the Greek Presidency of the UN Security Council."
