Fire at Avlonas under control, did not threaten homes

A fire that broke out earlier on Friday at low brushwood at Avlonas, near the Athens-Thessaloniki National Road, was placed under control by the Fire Department.
No residences were threatened by the fire, while a force of 36 firefighters with 10 fire trucks and a rough terrain unit is at the site, with the help of an aircraft and a helicopter by air.
