TUI officials visit Thessaloniki, Limnos island to discuss tourism development

Directors of TUI, the largest travel and tourism company in the world, paid a two-day visit to Thessaloniki and Limnos island on Thursday and Friday (May 15-16), seeing highlighted locations of the regions while accompanied by government and tourism officials.

A statement by the Ministry of Tourism said that the government was collaborating with TUI Group to expand tourism development in the Regions of Central Macedonia and the North Aegean, and in particular in the municipalities of Thessaloniki and Limnos. Thessaloniki is reviewed as a possible year-round 'city break' destination, while Limnos is reviewed as a new island destination for the summer.

The TUI delegation included Group CEO Sebastian Ebel and Executive Committee members Peter Krüger and Thomas Ellerbeck.

Greek State Minister Akis Skertsos and Deputy Tourism Minister Anna Karamanli attended the meetings, along with the mayors of the above municipalities, and regional officials as well as Greek National Tourism Organization officials, and representatives of Fraport and the Thessaloniki Port Authority.
