"The Mitsotakis government, which presented the HARSIA report as gospel when it was first published but then proceeded to throw it onto the fire because it did not serve its ends, is now doing the same with the report by Professor Karonis", opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance stressed in a statement on Tuesday.
The party accused the government of "cherry-picking" items in the report to wax triumphant about, insulting Greek society, whereas from the report's findings "it is again clear that, absolutely and in the absence of evidence due to the Mitsotakis-Triantapoulos bulldozing at the scene of the crime, no one can definitively say what caused the fireball."
In any case, every finding or report is evaluated as a whole by justice, but its instrumentalisation - such as the one the government is attempting today - anything but serves truth and the delivery of Justice. New Democracy is already condemned for Tempi in the eyes of the Greek people," concluded SYRIZA-PA.
