Theodorikakos: Productive reconstruction is an absolute necessity for Greek society

"With the new growth strategy we are helping to address demography, national security and reduce inequalities pointed out  Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos in an interview with the Sunday edition of the newspaper "Eleftheros Typos", talking about the strategy, philosophy and objectives of the new development law and stressing that "productive reconstruction is an absolute necessity for Greek society and especially for young people".

The 11 priorities of the Development MInistry are:

1. New production model based on the value of labour
2. Productive transformation by strengthening industry
3. Strengthening healthy entrepreneurship and competition
4. Tackling regional and social inequalities
5. Creating new jobs with better wages
6. Productivity, competitiveness, extroversion, innovation
7. Transparency for everyone and everything
8. Accountability for all investments
9. Growth means security for Greece
10. Quality of life and reversing demographic decline
11. Strict controls to protect consumers

The changing the production model has been emphatically set by the Ministry of Development. But it is also being put forward by important actors in society and representatives of the business community. A comprehensive strategy is required and we have outlined it since last autumn and as far as we are concerned we are following it consistently.

Serious efforts are being made with employment programmes and the challenge before us is to persevere with a strategy to implement a new production model whose pillars are industry, innovation and new technologies, extroversion. The country's strategy for 2030 must be to tackle the demographic problem and the new productive model as a cause that must unite Greeks, social forces and the political system.
