Energy Minister Papastavrou speaks with US Secretary of Energy Wright

Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou who is in USA, spoke on the phone on Saturday with the U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.
The talks focused on developments in the energy sector in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as the Greek delegation's trip to Houston, during which they had successive meetings with the US energy companies Chevron, ExxonMobil and Cheniere Energy, for the development of the hydrocarbon sector.
At the same time, the two sides discussed the activities of the Transatlantic Transgovernmental Energy Cooperation (P-TECC), coordinated by the US Department of Energy, of which Greece is a member.
Papastavrou invited the next meeting of the ministers of this intergovernmental cooperation to take place in Athens, an invitation which Wright accepted, with the two ministers agreeing to hold the meeting in November next year.
On Monday, Papastavrou will visit Washington where he will meet with the US Secretary of Interior and chairman of the National Energy Council Doug Burgum. He will also hold meetings with Republican Senator and member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, John Barrasso, second in command of the Republican Party leadership in the Senate, and with Republican House of Representatives member Mike Haridopoulos.
