Environment and Energy Minister visits ExxonMobil, Cheniere Energy in the United States

Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou and Deputy Energy Minister Nikos Tsafos, accompanied by the CEO of Hellenic Hydrocarbon Resources Management (EDEYEP), Aristofanis Stefatos, on Friday visited ExxonMobil headquarters in Texas, USA, where they were welcomed by Exxon's Vice President of Global Exploration, Dr John Ardill.
According to a ministry announcement on Saturday, Ardill briefed the Greek delegation on ExxonMobil's strategic priorities and the company's intention to increase its oil and natural gas production, with a horizon of 2030.
The discussion focused on the evaluation of the data collected by the company in 2024, which will form the basis for ExxonMobil's future activity in Greece. The two sides agreed to maintain regular communication as the company proceeds with the evaluation of geological and geophysical data.
Subsequently, the Greek delegation went to the headquarters of Cheniere Energy, the largest producer of liquefied natural gas in America, where it met with the company's vice president, Anatol Feygin. During the discussion, the two sides exchanged views on developments in the Greek, European and global natural gas market, the importance of the infrastructure that Greece has developed, as well as on the legislative regulations on both sides of the Atlantic that will affect the natural gas market, as well as global shipping.
Papastavrou is scheduled to have a meeting on Saturday with the member of the US House of Representatives and vice chairman of the Energy Subcommittee, Randy Weber.
