Androulakis: Restoring the National Health System among the party's priorities

Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis on Friday said that one of his party's priorities is the restoration of the National Health System, following his visit to Venizelio Hospital in Heraklion, Crete.
"The Greek people pay the second highest private health care costs in Europe. This alone should make us take important decisions more quickly in order to revive the National Health System, a pillar of social justice," PASOK's leader said in a statement. He stressed that "PASOK's priority is the restoration of the National Health System", noting that "this means a strong primary care network throughout Greece, it means incentives for doctors and nurses, the inclusion of nurses in the heavy and unhealthy professions - as is the case in the private sector - and infrastructure". He said that "the Recovery Fund was a very big opportunity. Some steps have been taken, at a time when the National Health System has very big challenges ahead of it."
