Mitsotakis: Today we are fulfilling one of our commitments

"Today is indeed a great day for Crete, a great day overall for our government, as we are finally, after many difficulties, after many obstacles, signing the concession contract for the Heraklion-Chania section of the road, with an option up to Kissamos, a commitment that I had personally undertaken and today I am in a happy position to fulfill," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Friday, at the event for the signing of the construction contract for the Heraklion-Chania section of the Northern Road Axis of Crete (VOAK).

He noted the need for everyone to look ahead and spoke about the VOAK project in general. "The Cretans already see that VOAK is a project that is progressing and I expect very soon to see work sites open on a large section of the connection between Heraklion and Chania. We know that it is a technically complex project, technically difficult, with an implementation horizon of about five years," he stressed and asked for the cooperation of all local authorities to overcome any obstacles.
