Pierrakakis: We invest in the comparative advantages of each sector

National Economy and Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis met on Thursday with the board and members of the Hellenic Retailers Association (HeRA).
After the meeting, Pierrakakis stated: "We discussed the latest developments in the Greek economy, with a focus on the needs, the challenges and the potential of the retail sector.
"The economic progress that Greece has made in recent years is a common component of the creation of a stable political and economic terrain that allows the country to unleash its full potential.
"Our mission in the Greek government is to maintain fiscal stability and to give an even greater boost to growth. We are doing this every day, investing in the comparative advantages of each sector and reducing regulatory and bureaucratic barriers.
"HeRA is a valuable ally in this effort. Through dialogue, by listening to the proposals of retail trade representatives, we will be able to support the sector, which plays a key role in Greek entrepreneurship, even more."
On his part, HeRA President Costas Gerardos stated: "The retail is the sector that drives the economy. In this ecosystem where workers, government and businesses coexist, we need to build balances that return value to each side. In today's highly constructive meeting with the Minister of Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, we focused on difficult issues that often act as roadblocks to progress, issues that require political boldness, technical work and institutional flexibility. The minister approached our positions with an open mind and a commitment to finding realistic solutions, which creates the conditions for a productive dialogue with consistency and continuity".
