FM Gerapetritis: Greece–Türkiye high cooperation council to be held this summer

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis announced in an interview at the OT 5th FORUM that the High Cooperation Council between Greece and Türkiye will take place during the summer.

Gerapetritis stressed that the issue will be discussed on the sidelines of the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting in Antalya.
“ Today we have established, as a significant achievement, a dialogue that occurs at a level aimed at preventing crises,” Gerapetritis said. He also noted that there is a significant increase in bilateral trade between the two countries and the leaders of Greece and Türkiye have set a very ambitious goal of doubling bilateral trade.

He also noted that the positive agenda between the two countries has worked at two levels - both at the level of the economy, through bilateral investment, bilateral trade, and at the level of people-to-people diplomacy.

On the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection, he noted that it removes Cyprus' energy insecurity. He also said that Greece in the last six years has developed into an energy hub both European and regionally.
