Kerameus: The next "Rebrain Greece" event will be held in USA

The next “ Rebrain Greece” event will take place in the United States of America, aiming to connect highly skilled Greek workers who live and work there with companies operating in Greece and looking for qualified personnel, announced Labour and Social Security Minister Niki Kerameus on Tuesday speaking at the annual conference of BrainReGain, entitled “ Powering Greece Forward”, representing the Prime Minister.
She said that the Greek government is moving very dynamically to create the conditions for more Greeks, who left mainly during the difficult years of the economic crisis, to consider returning to Greece.
In her speech, Kerameus stressed that the government is working persistently and systematically in order not only to stop the “ brain drain” abroad but also to reverse it.
At the same time, Kerameus added that incentives for those who wish to return to Greece are also provided by the support measures for workers, such as allowances, paternity leave and housing programmes for young families.
The Labour Minister also referred to the important tax incentive introduced by the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, which provides for a 50% reduction in income tax for seven consecutive years for those returning to Greece after five years or more of absence abroad, as well as to the new provision for the repatriation of doctors from the United States of America, under which the recognition of their specialty is made easy.
Among other things, Kerameus stressed the catalytic contribution of initiatives such as BrainReGain, which promote communication channels between businesses, institutions and the academic community, create alliances to attract more and more Greeks abroad and contribute to strengthening the relations of Hellenism with its roots. “ The State stands by every such effort”, the Labour Minister assured.
