Pierrakakis: Major changes expected in the use of digital media to combat tax evasion

Major changes are expected in the use of digital means to address tax evasion, Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis, said in his speech at the 6th International Conference of the Economic Chamber of Greece on Monday evening.
Specifically, in a post on Facebook, the minister stated that "I had the opportunity to present the economic policy of the Greek government, which aims to effectively support society and create growth momentum.
The mandate that citizens gave us in 2019 and 2023 and that we are implementing daily, is to constantly give new impetus to the economy. With fiscal stability, development policies, attracting investments, supporting entrepreneurship and social solidarity."
There is no room for complacency, especially when we know that there are citizens that need support, problems to be resolved and reforms to be implemented.
However, the recent statement by the Managing Director of the IMF that "what is happening in Greece we would like to see happening everywhere" underlines the long journey we have traveled until the country emerges from the difficult economic situation.
The distance traveled by the Greek people is an achievement and, at the same time, an incentive to continue building day by day, week by week, month by month.
The use of digital media in tackling tax evasion is an important success story of the Greek state. This is a very great achievement, which should not be lost. And in the coming period you will constantly see major changes in this area.
At the same time, we want to boost the economy by reducing regulatory barriers and bureaucracy. Combined with the utilization of all state resources, we will 'generate' even greater growth. All these small changes add up to a much larger qualitative change."
