"Going Forward" Center presented-Pierrakakis: Change does not come automatically, but with a plan, work and consistency

The challenges facing the new generation in Greece dominated the presentation event of the new Center for Social and Economic Research and Training "Going Forward", which was held with the participation of important personalities from the political, scientific and professional sectors.
In an era of rapid social and technological transformations, the speakers analyzed the critical issues that concern young people, such as access to quality education, unemployment, housing insecurity, but also disappointment with institutions. The need to formulate policies that will promote social mobility, strengthen the participation of young people in public life and offer substantial opportunities for personal and professional development was emphasized.
The Center "Going Forward" aspires to be a hub for producing evidence-based proposals and strengthening the new generation through research programmes, training actions and creative dialogue with society.
The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, stated, among other things, that the new generation today is no longer content with words, but demands substantial action and results. "Change does not come automatically, but with a plan, work and consistency. It takes continuous effort and commitment to create the conditions that will allow our society to develop," he noted.
Referring to the ministry's policies, he stressed that the new generation is at the heart of these policies, as the ministry invests in people, ideas and technologies that will move the country forward. The aim is for policies not to be theoretical, but to be transformed into practical solutions that will help the country achieve sustainable development.
Bank of Greece governor, Yannis Stournaras, referred to the future of work and the impact that artificial intelligence will have. "Artificial intelligence has the potential to reshape the labour market, and its impact will be rapid and significant, given its continued progress and the speed of its adoption," he noted. He pointed out that the need for targeted policies is imperative in order to ensure equal access for all to the future of work, while underlining the need for continuous training of workers, especially young workers.
