Kontogeorgis: Our policy is addressed to all citizens

"Our policy is addressed to all citizens," Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Thanassis Kontogeorgis, said in an interview with Attica TV on Monday evening.
He added that the government strives so that people do not live in poverty, while speaking about the (government's) will to strengthen the middle class.
On the housing issue, Kontogeorgis listed a set of government policies, such as the imposition of restrictions on Airbnb, tax incentives for renovations, tax incentives for a return to long-term leasing, rental policies, the "My Home I and II" programmes. Responding to relevant criticism, he stated that "no evidence suggests that the measures that the government has implemented have created inflationary pressures," and he also cited data from the Price Observatory.
In addition, 4,500 people have benefited from the "I Renovate" Programme - and these properties will be put on the market, he added, describing the government's main goal "to support people who struggle the most to meet high rents."
