Defence Min Dendias meets with Hungarian counterpart Szalay-Bobrovniczky

National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias met on Monday with his Hungarian counterpart Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, who is on an official visit to Greece.
Dendias stressed that the joint presence of Greece and Hungary in the European Union and NATO provides the framework for deepening their cooperation.
Dendias referred to the Greek community in Hungary, which he said “ is among the thirteen recognised minorities represented in the impressive Hungarian Parliament” and described it as "a bridge of communication and mutual understanding between our peoples".

“ We discussed,” Dendias continued, "the European rules on defence funding. Our countries can deepen their participation in the framework of PESCO, the European Defence Fund (EDF), the EDIP initiative, and the SAFE regulation."

Dendias and Szalay-Bobrovniczky also discussed the situation in the wider Middle East, with particular focus on Lebanon and Syria.
