Androulakis: The primary sector is being undermined

"With today's energy costs, the primary sector is being undermined across the country. Our position is the implementation of an agricultural fuel card so that the Special Consumption Tax can be refunded directly at the pump to ease the burden on farmers," emphasised PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis, who visited Zagora Pelion Agricultural Cooperative on Friday. There, he discussed with producers the challenges they face, primarily related to high energy costs and the delay in revising the Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organization (ELGA) regulation, which currently does not cover damages resulting from climate change."
"For us, a fair green transition means that every cooperative and every producer can generate their own energy to ensure low production costs in the coming years," added Androulakis.
PASOK-KINAL leader underlined that the regional development is a top priority for his party as it is the only way to address the demographic problem.
