The Municipality of Athens is set to review regulations regarding the use of electric scooters on city streets, following concerns raised at Wednesday’s City Council meeting. Mayor Haris Doukas described the current situation as unacceptable and announced plans to propose a ban on streets with speed limits over 50 km/h.
“ The issue of electric scooters is unacceptable,” Dοukas said. “ First of all, they are dangerous, and we will propose a ban on roads with a traffic limit of more than 50 km. In archaeological sites, we will provide specific locations; I believe we have identified nearly seventy at this moment."
