Sculptor Costas Varotsos' work shown at ESIEA press union May 6-Sept 7

Two works by Greek sculptor Costas Varotsos, whose emblematic 'Runner' is installed across from the Hilton Hotel, will be shown at the Journalists' Union of Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA) from May 6 to September 7.
The exhbition at the library of the union in central Athens will be inaugurated at 18:30 on Tuesday, May 6, by President of the Hellenic Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis.
Its theme is 'La verità è sempre un’altra' (The truth is always a different one), and it includes two pieces, 'Hope', shown for the first time, and 'Explosions', an installation. The combination of the two highlights the common space shared by a journalist and an artist, or "the split second between the present and the future," as Varotsos describes it.
"This space where I am showing my work is a historic space full of information collected over the years," Varotsos says. "It is, in essence, an alternative narrative of Greece's history. (...) For me, this was a challenge, an opportunity to be here, waiting for the space to 'bring up' the work."
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog.
