Trial of four people involved in Predator-linked wiretapping to resume on May 19

The trial of four defendants, owners and representatives of companies, involved in wiretapping through the Predator software will resume on May 19 at an Athens single-member misdemeanors court.
Two Greek nationals and two foreign nationals, a couple, are facing the charge of violating the privacy of communications at the expense of two Greek citizens in the 2020-2021 period.
During a trial hearing on Wednesday (April 23), the court rejected objections filed calling for invalidation, except for one submitted by the foreign couple that related to the translation of the case file documents into English, such as the court summons and a series of other documents.
By judge's order, three interpreters were appointed to divide the documents among them and produce translations of the documents in a short time. The judge therefore set May 19 as the next hearing of the trial, to provide time for the translations.
Attending the case on Wednesday were, among others, Deputy Christos Spirtzis and Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy (ADAE) president Christos Rammos. Both will testify at court, as will PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Nikos Androulakis, who is expected to be among the first witnesses to testify against the defendants.
