Finance Minister Pierrakakis at the IMF Spring Meeting in Washington

National Economy and Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis is paying a visit to the United States on Wednesday, to participate in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
Pierrakakis will be the keynote speaker on Wednesday, April 23, at an IMF event entitled "Paths to Success". The Greek minister will present the course of the country's economic recovery after 10 years and more of economic crisis and the good growth prospects of the Greek economy.
On Thursday, April 24, the minister will have a private meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva. Pierrakakis will participate in the working dinner of his European counterparts with the IMF managing director, during which international economic developments and their impact on European economies will be discussed.
On the same day, the Greek minister will participate in an event of the Foreign Policy Solution Summit, where he will talk with the editor of the magazine Andrew Sollinger. Then, at an event of the Atlantic Council think tank on the topic of global economic developments and the prospects of the Greek economy, he will discuss with Josh Lipsky, Senior Director of the AC GeoEconomics Center.
On Friday, April 25, the Greek minister will participate in the Ministerial Plenary of the IMF's International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC).
In the context of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings, the Minister of National Economy and Finance will have meetings with high-ranking representatives of banking and investment groups. At an event hosted by the Embassy of Greece in Washington, he will also meet with academics, expatriates and Greek employees at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
