Events commemorating 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

A series of events over four days, including laying of wreaths and speeches, will commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The events are held by the Armenian National Committee of Greece and the Region of Attica.
They will begin on Thursday with a memorial prayer at the Monument for the Armenian Genocide in the southern suburb of Nea Smyrni to commemorate the 1.5 million victims of the Genocide. This will be followed by speeches, messages, and laying of wreaths by representatives of the state, the Regional governor, the ambassador of the Republic of Armenia, and representatives of the Armenian community.
Events will conclude on Sunday with a central political event at the Acropol theater on Ippokratous Street that will be attended by representatives of the Greek government, Parliament, political parties, local government and the Armenian community. Wreaths will be laid at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier at Syntagma Square, where an information kiosk has been set up as of Tuesday by the Armenian Youth of Greece.
