The Lausanne Treaty is clear, and explicitly refers to a religious and not an ethnic minority in Thrace, the Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Monday, commenting on a related Turkish media post on the Muslim Minority in Thrace.

The Ministry pointed out that the Greek state absolutely respects the religious beliefs and cultural uniqueness of the Muslim Minority in Thrace, and concludes: "It reserves for Greek citizens, members of the minority, full equality before the law and the state."
