109 earthquakes recorded in Santorini-Amorgos zone on February 10

The Interdisciplinary Committee for Risk and Crisis Management of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens announced that based on the daily analysis of seismic data, 109 earthquakes were recorded on February 10.
The announcement said that from the beginning of seismic activity in the Santorini-Amorgos zone on 26 January until 9 February, the seismology laboratory has detected more than 14,000 earthquakes using machine learning methods. ML is a subset of AI that automatically enables a machine or system to learn and improve from experience.
"These earthquakes can be considered as part of a cluster that will continue with several earthquakes of similar magnitudes. However, the possibility of a main earthquake following it cannot be ruled out," the statement said.
