Fault leading to opening of doors on train in motion under investigation, STASY says

The Line 1 metro train whose doors momentarily opened and closed while the train was in motion has been withdrawn so that the cause of the malfunction can be investigated, Athens Urban Rail Transport (STASY) said in an announcement on Thursday.
The incident, which occurred at 6:25 on New Year's Day, was reported by the staff on metro line 1, which is a mostly overground electric railway.
According to the announcement:
"On January 1, at 6:25 in the morning, there was a momentary opening and closing of the doors on a train on Line 1 of the [Athens] Metro between Ano Patissia and Perissos stations. The train was evacuated at Perissos Station, withdrawn from circulation and taken to the repair base, where the cause of the doors malfunction is being investigated. A thorough check by STA.SY technical staff is underway. The specific train had been included in a programme for the renovation of 14 Line 1 trains which is being implemented at this time."
