Mitsotakis: Better public transport not just a commitment but a reality implemented on a daily basis

Improving public transport is not just a commitment, but a reality implemented on a daily basis, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in a social media post on Monday.
"Today, an additional 35 new buses with anti-pollution technology are being integrated into 11 bus lines of Attica, offering more comfortable, but also environmentally friendly journeys. So far, the urban transport fleet in Attica has already been renewed with 250 new vehicles, which offer better services to the passengers and ensure accessibility for all our fellow citizens", the prime minister emphasised and added:
"In 2019, 1,100 old technology buses were in circulation in Attica. Today there are 1,250 in circulation, of which 250 are modern, with anti-pollution technology. It is the first time since 2009 that such an extensive renewal of urban transport is taking place. And we aren't stopping here! Our goal is to arrive at 950 new buses in Attica by the summer of 2025, ensuring modern, more environmentally friendly and safer transport for passengers," Mitsotakis concluded.
