TRAINOSE unions on 24-hour strike; train services to be affected

TRAINOSE labour unions are going on a 24-hour nationwide strike on Thursday, September 26, demanding, among others, immediate recruitment of new staff, replacement of rolling stock with modern tracks similar to European railways, as well as the completion of infrastructure projects and transport safety in the railway network.
In their announcement, they pointed out that "the tragic accident in Tempi, where 11 of our colleagues were among the 57 people who lost their lives, highlighted the perennial problems faced by the railway's workers and its abandonment by the state."The company announced that train services will be affected by the strike. However, it will carry out routes with the assistance of security personnel for the best possible service to the passenger public.
