PM Mitsotakis: Fortifying Greece is a non-negotiable priority

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in a social media post marking the launch of the first Belharra frigate from Naval's shipyard in Lorient, also addressed Greece's military fortification.

Mitsotakis highlighted that the second Belharra frigate is also being launched and the construction of the third is underway. He also noted that procedures are beginning for the acquisition of a fourth frigate. He emphasized that the large-scale program to strengthen the armed forces, which was announced from the outset, is coming to fruition.

"The expenditure for the new purchase has been budgeted in a way that does not disrupt our fiscal discipline. However, it was deemed necessary as fortifying our homeland is a non-negotiable priority. Greece is becoming increasingly stronger," Mitsotakis added.
