Storm ATENA hits Attica: Emergency calls surge and 112 alerts issued

Storm ATENA has hit Attica, bringing heavy rainfall across the region. According to the Fire Brigade, the Operations Center has received 51 calls for Attica so far, primarily from areas in the municipality of Athens (Patissia and Kypseli), as well as from Psychiko and Galatsi. These calls include 34 for water pumping, 8 for tree cutting and 9 for elevator rescues.

Meanwhile, a 112 alert was sent to residents in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Thasos, Samothrace, Lemnos, and Agios Efstratios, warning them of dangerous weather conditions expected to last until early Wednesday afternoon.
