PM Mitsotakis: Thessaly must be fortified to prevent future disasters

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the ongoing flood protection and water management projects in Thessaly during an event at the Kileler Town Hall, focusing on the region's reconstruction efforts. Mitsotakis discussed the dam projects currently underway, marking one year since the devastating floods caused by the storm "Daniel".
Mitsotakis underlined the need for the construction of more dams.
He stressed the importance of these initiatives and urged attendees to view the meeting as a commitment to accountability from the political system towards Thessaly, adding that it is "our obligation to ensure that such a large-scale disaster like that caused by Daniel will never happen again."
Mitsotakis also highlighted the critical need to fortify Thessaly against future challenges, ensuring the region does not face similar problems again. He further addressed the issue of water management, emphasizing the necessity of projects that will prevent the waste of water resources. "We do not have the right to waste water. It is a resource that is being lost, especially in a time when we know we will have less water, and we must protect it," Mitsotakis remarked.
