Mitsotakis in Brussels for informal meeting of EU leaders

Prime Ministesr Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be in Brussels on Monday, in order to participate in the work of the informal European Council, where, among other things, the results of the European elections will be discussed.

After the conclusion of the International Summit for Peace in Ukraine in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on Sunday, Mitsotakis said that together with the Polish Prime Minister "we have taken on the role of informal negotiators on behalf of the European People's Party, in order to reach a conclusion on the  distribution of important positions of responsibility. Yes, I am optimistic that tomorrow evening at the informal leaders' dinner we will be able to come up with mutually acceptable names, starting obviously with the nomination of Ursula van der Leyen to continue as president of the European Commission for the next five years."
