ADEDY announces 24-hour nationwide strike on May 21

The federation of public sector employees ADEDY has announced a 24-hour nationwide strike on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

According to the announcement, ADEDY demands:

- A horizontal increase of 10% in the salaries of public-sector employees.

- A return of the two additional salaries in the public sector.

- Collective agreements on wages.

- Abolition of the wage freeze for the two-year period 2016-2017.

- Abolition of the 2% levy for the unemployed.

- An increase in the tax-free allowance to 12,000 euros.

- An increase in the allowance for unhealthy work.

- Immediate recruitment of permanent staff in all critical public organisations (health, education, social services, insurance, etc.) and the upgrading of essential infrastructure.
