Piraeus, Genoa Chambers of Commerce sign memorandum of cooperation

The president of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vassilis Korkidis, and the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa, Luigi Atanasio, signed a memorandum of cooperation, aiming to create favourable conditions for the development of economic relations between the businesses of Genoa and Piraeus.

The signing took place at a special event, as part of CLIA's first European cruise exhibition 'Clia Innovation Expo', March 12-14, 2024, in Genoa, Italy.

According to a statement, the two chambers will consult on matters of common interest and will hold joint meetings to improve commercial and economic cooperation between Genoa and Piraeus, while they will exchange financial and legal information regarding the development of their economic relations. Particular emphasis will also be placed on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the fields of cooperation and synergies, as well as on the utilisation of EU-funded programmes that promote territorial cooperation, blue growth, innovation, sustainability and digitisation. Furthermore, the organisation of seminars, exhibitions, conferences and other events is planned in order to familiarise the business community with the economy and the export potential of Genoa and Piraeus.
