The Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Anthimos, a senior cleric in the Greek Orthodox Church, has resigned according to an announcement on Tuesday.
This said that Anthimos had officially handed in  his resignation to Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos on Monday.
